English accreditation for the grants/scholarship program of "la Caixa" Foundation (PAI Online)

The EIM offers English language level certification tests online (PAI online) for candidates applying for the grants of postgraduate studies in European universities (does not apply for those in the United Kingdom and Ireland) that la "la Caixa" Foundation offers and the PhD grants of INPHINIT Incoming, Postgraduate abroad and INPHINIT Retaining.

This certificate will only be valid for application for the grants program of "la Caixa" Foundation.

The test consists of three different parts: use of language and listening (80 minutes approximately), writing (30 minutes) and speaking (10 minutes approximately, with a monologue and interactive questions).

B2 (MECR) is the minimum level required to apply for the grants that "la Caixa" Foundation offers for postgraduate studies in European universities (does not apply for those in the United Kingdom and Ireland) and PhD studies in Spanish or Portuguese universities.

Thus, a global evaluation/mark of B2.1 (MECR) will not be suffice to apply for the grants program of "la Caixa".

The certificate issued by the EIM (Escuela de Idomas Modernos) will specify the level of proficiency in the English language of each candidate, in accordance to the levels proposed by the MCER.

This certificate will be issued in English and sent by e-mail to the e-mail address that the access to the Virtual Campus provides.

People who belong to these groups, except the UB group, must provide justification in order to qualify for the Reduced Rate. This documentation should be sent to afc.secretaria@ub.edu. The EIM reserves the right to cancel the registration if the student fails to provide the necessary justification.

Any student who does not belong to one of the above groups.

PAYMENT BY CREDIT IN INSTALLMENTS:

Don't let the price slow down your desire to learn. Together with Banc Sabadell, we offer the possibility of paying for the course or test that you want to take in three, six, nine or twelve months. To find out the exact monthly amount, see the icon next to the price of each fee. A pop-up window will open with the available payment options. Look at the second option, the Credit installment payment, where you will see:

the monthly amount based on the number of installments you choose
the opening fee for the credit
a link to check all the terms and conditions for the credit (which we recommend you to do before applying for it)

If you choose this option, when you are just about to formalize the payment of the course or test in which you want to enroll, under “Payment options” for the registration, choose “Instant installment payment”. You will be redirected to the Banco Sabadell’s platform Sabadell Consumer Finance, where you will have to fill in a form with your data. If you meet the requirements established by Sabadell Consumer Finance, the credit will be approved.

If you need an invoice for the payment of the course and/or test, it is necessary that, prior to registration, you inform eim.informacio@ub.edu and make your payment by bank transfer. The companies wishing to subsidize this training must use this payment option.

More exams

For those interested in certifying their level of a language with immediate effect, the EIM can offer an individual EIM certification exam sitting. This exam provides the candidate with an EIM certificate, issued by the University of Barcelona, recognized by the Generalitat of Catalonia and all the Catalan universities.
Before requesting access to this test, we recommend you to ensure that the institution which will receive the EIM certificate recognizes it as valid.
Those interested must make a request through the following link. The certificate will be obtained within ten working days of making the request (except August).
